Bersatu Melaka sedia teroka persefahaman dengan PH

Bersatu Melaka is reportedly exploring the possibility of discussion or political cooperation with Pakatan Harapan (PH), according to Hishamuddin Abdul Karim, the party's Public Relations Chief. This comes after concerns over the resurgence of political realignment between PAS and its coalition within Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN).

The recent setbacks in PRN Johor and Negeri Sembilan have significantly weakened Bersatu's position. The party's leadership and statewide officials must critically evaluate various political scenarios, emphasizing rational and open assessment, Hishamuddin stated to FMT. He clarified that Bersatu does not rule out the possibility of political discussion or cooperation if it serves as a strategic advantage and provides better options for the people of Melaka.

Any such discussions, if they occur, should be viewed as part of a mature and pragmatic political process, he added. However, any form of cooperation should not involve individuals who have betrayed trust and the spirit of cooperation that has been built within PN. Ultimately, any political ruminations, understanding, or cooperation involving Bersatu is subject to the wisdom and decision of the party's president and central leadership.

With the upcoming DUN Melaka elections on December 30, barring an earlier dissolution, Hishamuddin informed FMT that Bersatu has already accelerated the political competition ahead of the PRN Melaka elections. Subsequently, all Bersatu factions are requested to submit comprehensive reports on party strength, local political standing, potential candidates, and contingency plans for seats to be evaluated.

Asked if Bersatu would use its own symbol as in Negeri Sembilan, Hishamuddin affirmed that Bersatu Melaka is ready to face PRN in whatever form the party determines. Despite winning two out of 28 DUN seats in the last election when competing under the PN symbol—Bemban and Sungai Udang—Bersatu Melaka remains open to any political scenario decided by the party.
