Anwar: Amirudin tasked to work out Pakatan-BN alliance details for Melaka polls

Seremban, August 25 — Pakatan Harapan (PH) election director Amirudin Shari has been granted permission to work on the specifics of a potential collaboration between PH and Barisan Nasional (BN) for the upcoming Melaka state election, according to PH chairman Anwar Ibrahim. In response to inquiries about reports that their meeting, attended by Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin, had also focused on seat allocations for the Melaka election, Anwar clarified that the discussion was actually centered around the Malaysia Games (Sukma).

During the Games, he speculated on the limited time for political matters. When asked about the prospects of cooperation between political parties in the Melaka polls, Anwar emphasized the importance of cooperation in life and administration, stating that it is a recurring theme. Earlier in the day, PH communications director Fahmi Fadzil confirmed that Amirudin had met Anwar the day before, and PH had previously indicated that the election committee, led by Amirudin and PH secretary-general Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, would consider the possibility of cooperation with BN for the Melaka election.
