Education Ministry holds orientation meeting for KG1

Doha, Qatar - The Ministry of Education and Higher Education held an orientation meeting for KG1, a program tailored for three-year-old children, at its headquarters. The Early Education Department led the meeting, emphasizing the significance of early education in shaping children's personalities and skills, and the importance of collaboration between kindergartens and families.

Representatives from 10 kindergartens attended the meeting, alongside principals, vice principals, teachers, and teaching assistants. The Ministry also welcomed a new cohort of 10 kindergartens, bringing the total number of participating establishments to 22.

Addressing the attendees, Director Dhabiya Al Khulaifi emphasized the ministry's commitment to early education, describing it as an investment in the nation's future. She highlighted the essential role of teachers as driving forces and role models, urging them to foster creativity and cater to individual differences among children.

Al Khulaifi reminded parents of their crucial partnership with kindergartens, noting that daily support at home reinforces learning and strengthens the relationship between families and educational institutions. She underscored that parental care at home complements the educational care provided by kindergartens, forming a foundation for a child's future development.

The meeting featured presentations on various aspects of early education, including roles and responsibilities, learning resources, assessment tools, activity guidelines, and training plans. A one-week intensive training program for teachers, scheduled from August 30 to September 3, 2026, was also announced. However, children at kindergartens in the third expansion phase will not attend classes during these training periods.
