Armwretling: Egyptian Ambassador commends Ghana Armwrestling, calls for collaborative development

H.E. Wael Fathy Ahmed, Egypt's Ambassador to Ghana, has praised Ghana's Armwrestling Federation for its progress in the sport. He invited stronger collaboration between Ghana and Egypt to boost armwrestling, sports business, sports tourism, and overall sports development across Africa. During a meeting at the high commission, representatives from the Ghana Armwrestling Federation discussed integrating armwrestling into the 2027 African Games in Egypt.

They highlighted armwrestling's potential to contribute to medal campaigns and its ability to strengthen ties between the two nations, especially through youth development and people-to-people interactions. The focus was on expanding the sport's reach beyond competition to include commercial, tourism, training, and youth development opportunities.

President of the Ghana Armwrestling Federation, Charles Osei Asibey Br, expressed enthusiasm in forming a strategic partnership with Egypt, emphasizing the potential for technical exchanges, athlete and technical exchanges, coaching programs, and training camps. He also suggested exploring business, tourism, and sports diplomacy opportunities between the two countries.

The discussions underscored the shared vision of using armwrestling as a tool for Africa's sporting advancement and fostering stronger relationships between Ghana and Egypt.
