2027: PDP denies collapsing structure for APC in Akwa Ibom

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Akwa Ibom State has refuted allegations that they disbanded their structures to support the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election. The group, PDP Advocates for Peace and Justice (PAPA-J), made this clear in a statement endorsed by their chairman, Dr. Tom FredFish, and secretary, Mr. Saviour Uko.

PAPA-J emphasized that no legitimate PDP structures in Akwa Ibom State had collapsed for the APC. They insisted that the party remains a strong political force with active structures, members, and supporters across the 31 Local Government Areas of the state.

According to PAPA-J, the APC's actions were a desperate move to capitalize on the PDP's popularity among Akwa Ibom people in order to secure votes in the upcoming election. They noted that the individual identified as the PDP chairman at a supposed gathering was not officially recognized by the party.

The group underlined that genuine PDP members should not be misled by such fabricated political arrangements. They urged PDP members, supporters and the public to disregard any political actions seemingly sprouted at odd hours and presented as the party's collective stance.

PAPA-J called on the APC to build its own party structures and campaign on its own merits instead of trying to appropriate the PDP's identity and popularity.
