M'sian woman, 47, killed after car crashed into food court, friend mourns trip they never took

A 47-year-old woman, Xiao Shixiang, was tragically killed in Malaysia after a car crash in a food court. According to Sin Chew Daily, the incident occurred at around 1:13am on August 22 in Bandar Mahkota Cheras. The incident involved a 35-year-old man who drove into the dining area and then attempted to flee. Xiao had attempted to stop the car, resulting in severe head injuries and her eventual death.

A friend paid tribute to Xiao on Facebook, sharing several photos of them together and a copy of her obituary. The friend described Xiao as kind and fiercely loyal to her friends, and mentioned that she had already stepped into a car and was ready to leave when the crash took place. However, she got out again to check on others.

The friend recalled seeing Xiao just half an hour before the crash. According to China Press, the two had made plans to go to Thailand together and watch a movie. Xiao had urged her friend to head home, and they said goodbye. The friend expressed her disbelief that a simple goodbye turned out to be their last, writing that she could not understand how it could happen only 30 minutes later.

She added: "My sister, we said we would go to Thailand together, said we would watch a movie together today, said that in 50 years we would travel together with walking sticks. How could you not wait?" The friend concluded: "May you rest in peace. I will always remember you, you are so lovely and kind and so good to me."
