Fire Point shows strikes on Ozon hub and Russian refinery

Ukrainian forces launched strikes on an Ozon logistics hub and the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery in Russia's Samara Oblast using FP-1 drones, according to Ukrainian defense company Fire Point. The company shared footage of the attacks on August 22. The Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, owned by Rosneft, is one of the largest refineries in the region, with a processing capacity of around 8.3 million metric tons of crude oil annually.

It produces various petroleum products, including gasoline, diesel, and aviation fuel. Additionally, Ukrainian drones targeted an Ozon logistics hub in Samara Oblast, which is one of the company's largest fulfillment centers in Volga Oblast. Once fully operational, the facility spans approximately 135,000 square meters and can handle over 40 million items daily, processing more than 215,000 orders per day.

Fire Point noted that the dual strikes aimed to exert pressure on Russia's fuel and logistics infrastructure. On August 22, Russian authorities in Samara Oblast reported a drone attack, issuing a drone threat alert and receiving reports of air defense systems firing and smoke visible from residents. Samara Oblast Governor Vyacheslav Fedorishchev stated that two facilities sustained damage, claiming that dozens of drones had been engaged or neutralized.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces confirmed the strike on the Novokuibyshevsk oil refinery, with ongoing assessments of the extent of the damage.
