The war in Ukraine has been raging for nearly four and a half years now, with the nation receiving support from the West in its defense against Russia's offensive campaign. Since 2014, Russia had annexed the Crimean peninsula and has been using it as a staging ground and resupply base. Consequently, Kyiv continues to launch attacks on various targets across the peninsula.

Recently, the country's anti-corruption agencies conducted searches on suspects, revealing allegations of massive money laundering. Vice Chief of the Presidential Office in Kyiv, Iryna Mudra, was under scrutiny for her role in the alleged financial crimes. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy dismissed Mudra shortly after the allegations surfaced, without providing further details.

Mudra confirmed the search early in the morning via her Facebook account, stating that she had cooperated with the authorities and had submitted her resignation by the evening.
