Ukraine's Defense Ministry unveils first domestic jet-powered drone interceptor Alexa Spatium

Ukrainian drone technology firm Rise Technologies has created a highly resilient communication system for military UAVs, called Nakande. This digital network is specially designed to maintain connectivity in the midst of enemy jamming efforts. Rise Technologies commercial director Viktor Chuikovskyi explains that Nakande's standout feature is its ability to constantly hop frequencies, scanning a bandwidth up to 1,000 MHz for a clear channel and automatically switching to it.

This frequency-hopping mechanism allows the drone link to stay functional even when the enemy tries to disrupt communications. The Nakande airborne module, weighing just 160 grams, supports 2×Ethernet and MAVLink protocols, and combines control, telemetry, and video in a single encrypted link. With a downlink speed of up to 5.2 Mbit/s, it can transmit clean video and compressed 4K streams securely using AES-256 encryption.

The system's ground station can be set up in under five minutes and is capable of connecting 50 to 100 modules via a standard IP architecture, allowing operators to separate the antenna, control point, and ground station. Nakande has withstood various tests, including bench, field, and combat checks, achieving a range of up to 118 kilometers in its most advanced configuration.

Although the exact price remains undisclosed, Rise Technologies claims that Nakande is significantly cheaper than comparable foreign solutions.
