UAE, Saudi Arabia and six other countries condemn Israel’s E1 settlement plan

The Foreign Ministers of the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Türkiye, and Egypt have strongly denounced Israel's ongoing illegal settlement policies in the Occupied Palestinian Territory. They explicitly reject the "E1" settlement plan and associated activities east of occupied East Jerusalem. The ministers also condemn the violent acts committed by settlers, backed by Israeli occupying forces, against Palestinians and their properties.

They emphasize that these actions infringe upon Palestinian rights and international law, threatening regional and global peace and security. The ministers stress that the "E1" plan advances settlement expansion and annexation, undermining the contiguous nature of the Occupied Palestinian Territory, especially between the West Bank and East Jerusalem.

This stance challenges international peace efforts, including President Donald Trump's Comprehensive Plan and the Board of Peace. The ministers reaffirm that the two-state solution, as per international law and UN resolutions, is the only viable path to a just, comprehensive, and lasting peace. They warn that undermining this solution could exacerbate tensions, jeopardize regional and international peace, and hinder lasting peace prospects.

The ministers urge accountability measures against entities and individuals responsible for illegal settlement activities, including the "E1" plan, and call for an immediate halt to the "E1" settlement plan, rescinding related measures, and ceasing all settlement activities. They urge the United Nations Security Council, all states, and international actors to uphold their international law responsibilities, protect Palestinians, safeguard their rights, including self-determination, and realize an independent state based on 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
