Inter set for Serie A title defence as Milan get Amorim reboot

Inter Milan are set to defend their Serie A title this season, as they enter the new campaign as overwhelming favorites to retain the Scudetto. Under manager Cristian Chivu, the team has undergone significant changes since their league and Italian Cup double victory in May. Chivu, entering his second season at the helm, has revamped the squad he inherited from Simone Inzaghi just over a year ago.

The Romanian manager has focused on rejuvenating an aging team while bringing a Premier League influence to the squad during the summer transfer window. Key additions include Spanish goalkeeper Josep Martinez, who will replace Yann Sommer, and a mix of veterans and new signings, including Francesco Acerbi, Matteo Darmian, Stefan de Vrij, Denzel Dumfries, John Stones, and Manuel Akanji.
