Ukraine launches one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, killing at least 6 people in Russia

Ukraine executed one of its most extensive aerial assaults on Russia on Sunday, resulting in the deaths of at least six individuals. This marked a significant escalation in the ongoing conflict. The Ukrainian forces deployed hundreds of drones across Russian territory, causing considerable damage and loss of life. Russian authorities reported that 822 Ukrainian drones were destroyed overnight, while Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin stated that approximately 600 drones were heading towards the Russian capital.

A third of these drones were targeted over the Moscow region itself, leading to a fatal incident. An 83-year-old man lost his life when a Ukrainian drone struck a private residence in the Moscow region. This attack also ignited a fire at a warehouse belonging to the Russian retail giant Wildberries. Furthermore, the drone strikes extended beyond Moscow, with Rostov region experiencing the brunt of the assault.

Local Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed that five people were killed in the southwestern Russian region, with three towns directly targeted by Ukrainian drones.
