Three killed as Russia launches fresh aerial attacks across Ukraine

In the latest wave of Russian strikes, at least three people have been killed and over ten injured in Ukraine, officials have reported. A market in the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, was hit overnight, leading to a fire that firefighters are battling. Ukraine claims to have shot down three Russian missiles and nearly 100 drones. Meanwhile, Moscow's mayor stated that approximately 600 Ukrainian drones were launched towards Kyiv overnight.

A warehouse belonging to the Russian online retailer Wildberries was among the targets, caught in a blaze in the Russian city of Koledino. Russia has ramped up its aerial assaults on Ukraine in recent weeks, while Kyiv has intensified its targeting of Russian logistics hubs to disrupt military supplies. Air-raid sirens have sounded four times in Kyiv since Saturday night, with Mayor Vitali Klitschko reporting six injuries, including a child.

In the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, two people were killed when a Russian guided aerial bomb destroyed a house. Dnipropetrovsk also reported one death and 14 injuries from a Russian strike. Russia reported three people injured in a Ukrainian strike, with roughly one-third of the drones Ukraine launched at Kyiv reportedly shot down.

A Wildberries warehouse in Koledino, around 15.5 miles from Moscow's center, was targeted, with a fire and thick smoke captured in videos. Moscow's mayor noted that most Ukrainian drones launched at the capital were neutralized. Separately, Romania's defense ministry reported a Spanish fighter jet downing a Ukrainian drone that crossed into its airspace near the Ukrainian-Moldovan border around 5:01 AM local time, on Sunday.

The debris from the intercepted drone fell in a remote area of Galati, close to the Ukrainian border.
