SPRM tahan 2 polis peronda disyaki minta suapan RM14,000

Pahang's SPRM Chairperson Mohamad Shukor Mahmud has confirmed that two police officers were involved in a bribery scandal, allegedly occurring between January and July 2026. The incident took place on a busy road, the Eastern Coast Highway (LPT) 2. A male officer, aged around 30, was arrested around 5:30 pm yesterday after arriving to give a statement at the SPRM Pahang office.

The preliminary investigation found that the suspect allegedly committed the act along with another police officer from January to July 2026. The suspect is believed to have received the bribe through a bank transfer to a third-party account which the suspect controlled. The suspect is currently detained for five days until August 20, pending the approval of the SPRM Chief Magistrate in Kuantan.

Meanwhile, a male officer, also aged around 30, who was previously detained on August 11, will be subject to a four-day detention until August 19. A further detention order has been issued by the magistrate on the same day after the first detention request expired today. Meanwhile, Pahang's SPRM Chairperson Mohamad Shukor Mahmud has approved the detention of the two suspects and informed that the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the SPRM Act 2009.
