SPRM tahan 2 polis peronda disyaki minta suapan RM14,000

Pahang's SPRM chairperson Mohamad Shukor Mahmud has confirmed that two police officers were involved in a bribery scandal, allegedly taking place between January and July 2026. The incident occurred near the Eastern Coastway (LPT) 2. A male member in his thirties was arrested around 5:30 pm yesterday after arriving at the SPRM Pahang office to provide a statement.

Initial investigations found the suspect allegedly committing the act alongside another police officer from January to July 2026. It is believed the suspect received bribes through a third-party bank transfer. The suspect is now detained for five days until August 20 after the magistrate approved the SPRM's request in the Kuantan Magistrate Court this morning.

Meanwhile, the male police officer detained on August 11 has been extended for four more days until August 19. A further extension of detention was issued by the magistrate today following the expiry of the first extension order today. Meanwhile, Pahang's SPRM chairman Mohamad Shukor Mahmud confirmed the detention of the two suspects and informed that the case is being investigated under Section 17(a) of the SPRM Act 2009.
