Russian attack rocks Kyiv as numerous explosions heard within minutes

Russian forces launched a brazen assault on Kyiv overnight, triggering a barrage of explosions that reverberated through the Ukrainian capital within mere minutes. The city center bore the brunt of the onslaught, with a staggering four blasts heard within a span of just a few minutes, according to eyewitnesses on the ground. The intensity of the strikes was palpable, leaving residents with no time to seek refuge.

In the Pecherskyi district, six explosions erupted in quick succession, further exacerbating the chaos. As a direct result of the Russian aggression, a fire erupted at a commercial structure in the Obolonskyi district, while a second building was reduced to ashes in the Holosiivskyi district, as reported by the Kyiv City Military Administration.

Prior to the onslaught, the Air Force had alerted authorities of an impending Russian ballistic missile strike, only for the warning to be canceled mere minutes later. However, the threat swiftly resurfaced, reemerging at 2:46 a.m. The specter of Russian aggression looms large as the conflict persists, with the nation's capital enduring repeated fatal attacks on its civilian infrastructure.

In a chilling reminder of the ongoing war, Russian forces have previously targeted Zaporizhzhia and Kyiv using North Korean ballistic missiles and Zircon cruise missiles, resulting in dire consequences. On August 11, seven workers at the Zaporizhstal steel plant were killed, alongside 24 others injured in Zaporizhzhia, with one additional civilian suffering harm in Kyiv.

Another harrowing incident occurred on August 8, where a Russian ballistic missile strike claimed the lives of four individuals, including a three-year-old child, in Kyiv and its surrounding areas. The pattern of brutality continued on August 5, when a ballistic missile attack left 17 casualties in the capital and its environs.
