PSG beaten by Lens in French Champions’ Trophy

Lens defeated Paris St-Germain in the French Champions' Trophy, claiming their first victory under new coach Dino Toppmoeller. Florian Thauvin's first-half goal secured a 1-0 win for Lens in their opening match at the Stade Bollaert-Delelis in Lens. The visitors dominated possession but failed to create clear chances, with Lens goalkeeper Robin Risser making a solid save from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Lens grew into the game and took the lead in the 32nd minute when Thauvin scored from a Matthieu Udol cross-shot at the back post. Toppmoeller's team suffered a setback six minutes before halftime when Kyllian Antonio received a red card for a studs-up tackle on Maghnes Akliouche. Despite the numerical advantage, PSG struggled to capitalize, with Desire Doue's effort from a tight angle bouncing off the crossbar.

Thauvin's shot wide also came close to equalizing. The European champions brought on substitute Nuno Mendes and Fabian Ruiz off the bench, but the latter scored a shot that Risser saved. Lens was reduced to 10 men with three minutes left as Nuno Mendes was shown a red card for elbowing Lens wing-back Michal Skoras in the face.
