Cameroon beat Malawi 3-0 to claim first WAFCON title

In a historic final at Rabat, Cameroon's Women's football team secured their first-ever Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title by defeating Malawi 3-0. Marie Ngah Manga was the standout player, scoring twice in the first half to give Cameroon the lead. Naomi Eto added a third goal in first-half stoppage time. Malawi, making their debut in the tournament, found it difficult to break through Cameroon's defense.

Although Tabitha and Temwa Chawinga were key players, they were largely ineffective. Cameroon's victory, secured through their world ranking, ends a nine-year drought as the team had not won the continental title since 2012. The champions will join Malawi, Algeria, and Morocco in representing Africa at the 2027 Women’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
