Anwar announces additional RM1 million allocation for every parliamentary constituency

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim announced a new RM1 million allocation for each of Malaysia's parliamentary constituencies. As finance minister, Anwar stated the funds would be directly given to agencies to meet local needs, rather than going through MPs. He made this announcement at the 2026 PKR National Congress in Melaka. When asked about raising the petrol and diesel subsidies, Anwar said he would consider the matter but would announce the specific rates later.

The PKR Youth had previously demanded higher petrol quotas, while PKR vice-president Roland Engan had suggested increasing diesel assistance in Sabah and Sarawak. Anwar also stressed the need to cut bureaucratic hurdles for entrepreneurs, particularly with the e-Invoice policy, which he was in the final stages of simplifying. Issues related to e-commerce and gig workers were also discussed, noting that the Malaysian Gig Economy Commission had yet to address all demands.
