Aminuddin says he’ll take responsibility, ready to quit PKR Negeri Sembilan role after polls loss

On August 16, former Negeri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Aminuddin Harun announced his willingness to resign as chairman of the Negeri Sembilan State Leadership Council (MPN) of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) post-election loss. Aminuddin expressed his agreement with the six PKR branch leaders in the state who are calling for the party's leadership to reevaluate their stance following the loss.

Six of the 15 state assembly seats contested by PKR only resulted in two wins. "I also take note of the demands of the six Negeri Sembilan branch leaders who want me to take responsibility for the defeat. I would like to state publicly that I agree with your demands," Aminuddin stated. He emphasized his commitment to accepting responsibility for the defeat and not running away from it.

Aminuddin left the final decision to the party leadership and was prepared to accept any actions related to PKR's future. He highlighted that defeat should serve as a starting point for rebuilding the party. In the Negeri Sembilan state election held on August 1, PKR only retained two seats, Chuah and Sri Tanjung, while he lost the Linggi state seat to BN's Datuk Mohd Faizal Ramli, receiving 6,163 votes compared to the incumbent's 9,139 and Bersatu's Zamri Md Said's 391 votes.
