Adeleke’s victory a ‘resounding vote of confidence’ – NANS

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) in the South-West Zone has praised Osun State Governor-elect, Ademola Adeleke, for his resounding victory in the recent governorship election. In a statement released by its Coordinator, Adeyemo Kayode, NANS described Adeleke's win as a clear endorsement of the growing political influence of students and young people in the state.

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) confirmed Adeleke as the winner, securing 511,067 votes compared to Bola Oyebamiji of the All Progressives Congress, who received 444,815 votes. NANS emphasized that students from prominent universities across Osun State, including Obafemi Awolowo University, Osun State University, and University of Ilesa, actively participated in the electoral process.

The students expressed their support for Adeleke, stating that their endorsement was based on firsthand experience under his administration. They commended Adeleke for his transparency and responsiveness, both in addressing issues and acknowledging progress. NANS also extended their congratulations to President Bola Tinubu, INEC, the Nigeria Police Force, other security agencies, election observers, civil society organizations, and journalists for their contributions to the smooth election process.

The students urged Adeleke to prioritize the welfare of students and young people during his second term, advocating for increased investment in educational institutions, improved infrastructure, healthcare facilities, and better transportation. They emphasized that these future leaders deserved a dignified and secure learning environment to thrive and contribute to the state's development.
