Osun Speaker’s residence surrounded by armed personnel, says Adeleke campaign

The campaign team of Osun State Governor candidate, Mr. Gboyega Oyetura Adeleke, has expressed concern over the reported presence of armed security personnel surrounding the residence of Osun State Speaker, Rt. Hon. Adewale Egbedun, on the eve of the state's gubernatorial election. The Adeleke Campaign Council, in a statement by its spokesperson, Pelumi Olajengbesi, alleged that over ten black Hilux vehicles were seen arriving at the Speaker's residence, leading to its sealing and preventing anyone inside from leaving.

The campaign council has not been able to independently verify the purpose of the deployment or the nature of the security personnel's activities, but they have urged the relevant security agencies to clarify the situation. They called for transparency regarding the deployment's purpose and the restriction of movement within the residence.

The campaign council also appealed for the security agencies to ensure their actions on election day do not instill fear or intimidation among the residents. They urged the people of Osun State to exercise their democratic right peacefully and without fear. The council emphasized that the electoral process should be free from fear and intimidation, allowing the people to decide their future according to their own conscience.
