LCCI advocates for economic prowess, strong defence

Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol emphasized the importance of self-reliance and formidable defence in securing Pakistan's sovereignty. On the LCCI's Independence Day flag-hoisting ceremony, he urged the government to boost industrial output, exports, and investment. The Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, he stated, marked a significant and historic milestone in the relationship between Pakistan and fellow Muslim nations, fostering mutual trust, cooperation, and collective security.

Ur Rehman Saigol highlighted that robust defence mechanisms, in tandem with collaboration with ally countries, could greatly contribute to regional peace and stability. He reiterated that economic self-reliance, industrial growth, exports, and investment were vital for achieving complete independence and sovereignty. The LCCI president called for policy continuity, improved business environment, reduction in business costs, and enhanced private sector involvement in economic growth.

LCCI's senior officials, including Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt and Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, echoed the sentiment, stressing national unity, robust defence, and economic progress as crucial elements for building a strong and prosperous Pakistan. They also praised the Makkah Joint Defence Agreement, emphasizing its role in advancing cooperation and collective security among Islamic nations.

The ceremony saw the participation of prominent former LCCI and FPCCI leaders, along with the hoisting of the national flag by Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol, Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Khurram Lodhi, and Senator Shaheen Khalid Butt.
