Joshua Báez first player to homer in first 3 at-bats in the majors, leads Cardinals past Cubs 8-4

Joshua Báez made history on Saturday, becoming the first player to hit three home runs in his first three at-bats in Major League Baseball. The 23-year-old St. Louis Cardinals outfielder, called up from Triple-A Memphis earlier that day, led the team to an 8-4 win against the Chicago Cubs. His three consecutive homers, driven in by fellow Cardinals Blaze Jordan and Alec Burleson, proved decisive as Báez also contributed five runs on the day.

Michael Conforto put up a three-run homer for the Cubs, but it wasn't enough as Connor McGreevy, who had previously won his last start on July 8, held off the visitors, allowing just three unearned runs in six innings.
