Sim Tze Tzin dismisses PKR turmoil talk, says core leadership united under Anwar

GEORGE TOWN, Aug 14 — PKR strategy director Sim Tze Tzin has dismissed rumors of internal strife within the party, asserting that its core leadership remains unified under president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. Sim explained that the party's upcoming national convention would offer delegates a forum to express their concerns following electoral losses in Johor and Negeri Sembilan.

This would enable party leaders to identify weaknesses and implement solutions before the next general election. Speaking at a press conference in Komtar, Sim stated, "Delegates will undoubtedly raise various issues, and this is a platform for the leadership to hear their grievances and find resolutions." He emphasized the importance of recognizing their weaknesses and working diligently over the subsequent year to enhance the party's performance.

Sim informed that PKR's Angkatan Muda Keadilan and Wanita wings had commenced their conventions the previous evening, with the national convention scheduled for the following day. The PKR party was not involved in any voting activities this weekend, he clarified, referring to the DAP convention. Regarding deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar's statement that the party would suffer due to having "two captains" and internal disputes, Sim had not yet perused the complete remarks and thus could not comment.

Nevertheless, he affirmed that there was no internal unrest within PKR. "The leadership is robust. The core leaders remain unwavering in their commitment to the party," Sim stated. Although several MPs, including the Subang MP, had departed from PKR, Sim noted that their exits had been anticipated. "We were aware for some time of the intentions of a small group of leaders to leave, and the party has proceeded accordingly," he explained.

"The core team remains intact and operates effectively within party leadership." When queried about the presence of two leaders in PKR, Sim underscored the party's singular "captain." "How could PKR possess two captains? Our solitary captain is the prime minister, who is also the party president. "In my view, this is evident within Keadilan.

There is only one leader — namely Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim — unlike Perikatan Nasional, which faces numerous issues and multiple captains. In Keadilan, we have only one, namely Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," Sim asserted.
