Sim Tze Tzin dismisses PKR turmoil talk, says core leadership united under Anwar

George Town, Aug 14 - PKR strategy director Sim Tze Tzin has debunked rumors of internal strife within the party, asserting that its core leadership remains unified under the presidency of Anwar Ibrahim. Sim stated that the upcoming national convention will offer delegates a forum to voice their concerns arising from electoral losses in Johor and Negeri Sembilan, enabling party leaders to pinpoint and rectify shortcomings before the subsequent general election.

"Delegates will undoubtedly raise multiple matters, and this represents a platform for the leadership to hear their grievances and devise solutions," Sim informed reporters during a press conference at Komtar. "We must comprehend our weaknesses and strive diligently over the ensuing year prior to the general election; there remains ample time for us to enhance," he added further.

Sim disclosed that PKR's Angkatan Muda Keadilan and Wanita wings commenced their conventions the previous night, whereas the party's nationwide convention is slated for tomorrow. He clarified that PKR was not implicated in any vote on the weekend, referring to the distinct DAP convention. When Nurul Izzah Anwar, PKR deputy president, cautioned that the party would be undermined by possessing "two captains" and internal disputes, Sim expressed that he had not perused her complete remarks and consequently could not comment.

Nonetheless, Sim contended that no internal disarray existed within PKR. "The leadership is exceptionally strong; the core leaders remain resolute in the party," he remarked. Sim recognized that several MPs, including the Subang MP, had departed from PKR, but he attributed their exits to anticipated shifts. "We have been cognizant for some time regarding the movements of a select cadre of leaders who intended to depart, and the party has adapted accordingly," he asserted.

"The core team remains cohesive and operates effectively within the party leadership," he concluded. When inquired about the notion of PKR having two leaders, Sim affirmed that the party had only one "captain". "How can PKR have two captains? Our sole captain is the prime minister, who also serves as the party president. "I believe this is crystal clear in Keadilan.

There is but one general — unlike Perikatan Nasional, which faces numerous issues and multiple captains. In Keadilan, we possess only one, namely Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim," he stated.
