Nurul Izzah’s PKR leave has no end date yet, says party sec-gen

Melaka, August 14 — The secretary-general of Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR), Senator Datuk Dr Fuziah Salleh, has stated that there is no predetermined end date for deputy president Nurul Izzah Anwar's leave from party duties. Nurul Izzah is currently planning to pursue further studies. The PKR secretary-general revealed that the party is prepared to welcome Nurul Izzah back to her responsibilities once she is ready to resume her duties.

She explained that Nurul Izzah will continue to fulfill her duties during the party's National Congress, which lasts for three days. During this time, she will officiate events such as the AMK and Wanita congress, preside over debate and winding up sessions, and deliver her closing remarks. At a press conference following the opening of the 2026 National Congress of Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) and Wanita PKR, Fuziah noted that the PKR president's policy speech is expected to cover the party's struggles, future direction, and institutional reform agenda.

Fuziah emphasized that it is up to the delegates to decide which motions they wish to bring forward and debate, including those focused on strengthening the party.
