UGC NET 2026 June Answer key: When will NTA release it?

The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the release of the provisional answer key for the UGC NET June 2026 examination on August 16 via its official website. Candidates who took the test can access the key by visiting ugcnet.nta.nic.in. They are given the chance to contest any inaccuracies in the provisional answers.

If discrepancies are identified, candidates have until August 18 to submit objections through the aforementioned portal, with a processing fee of Rs 200. The examination, conducted as a computer-based test (CBT) from June 22 to June 30, aimed to assess eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF), Assistant Professor positions, and PhD program admissions in Indian higher education institutions.

On August 10, the agency had stated that provisional answer keys for UGC NET June 2026, CSIR-NET, ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026 would be available this week. However, multiple student organizations had been urging NTA to expedite the release of the answer key, candidates' response sheets, and results. Jawaharlal Nehru University Students’ Union (JNUSU) had specifically requested UGC and NTA to release the provisional answer key, response sheets, and results urgently.

The delay in releasing the answer key and results has become a cause for concern among candidates, as universities have already initiated or are set to start their doctoral admission processes. Some students are considering private universities or other alternatives to prevent losing a valuable academic year due to the pending results.

The final answer key will be published by NTA before the UGC NET June 2026 results are announced. Candidates are advised to frequently check the official NTA and UGC NET websites for the most recent updates.
