No time limit on Nurul Izzah's leave, says Fuziah

In her final speech before stepping down as the deputy president of PKR, Nurul Izzah Anwar urged the party to remain steadfast to its principles and to guard against becoming what it once opposed. Speaking at the opening of the Wanita PKR and PKR Youth congresses at the Melaka International Trade Centre, she emphasized the importance of staying true to the values that drove the party's reformist struggle during its opposition days.

Nurul Izzah urged the party to constantly question whether their actions served personal interests or the greater good. She warned that political power could tempt the party to compromise on its principles, warning that some compromises could lead to the erosion of values and the rise of corruption. "We need to remember, as much as possible, to avoid becoming what we hate most about our opponents," she said.

She pointed out that there are two types of compromise - one for the greater good and the other that could open the door for corruption. Nurul Izzah stressed that PKR's approach to reformasi has always been moderate and pragmatic, without abandoning its core principles. She urged the party's youth and women's wings to safeguard the people's trust, emphasizing that leadership is about more than just holding power.
