Stay true to your principles, Nurul Izzah urges PKR

In her final speech before stepping down as deputy president of PKR, Nurul Izzah Anwar emphasized the importance of staying true to the party's principles. The former Permatang Pauh MP urged the party to remain vigilant in power, reminding delegates not to lose sight of the values that drove their struggle for reform while in opposition.

Nurul Izzah stated that the party should constantly question whether its actions served personal interests or the greater good. She warned that political compromise should not mean abandoning principles, distinguishing between compromise for the greater good and compromise that could lead to corruption. Nurul Izzah defined PKR's approach as moderate and pragmatic without sacrificing its core values, which she said were at the heart of reformasi.

She urged PKR's youth and women's wings to protect the people's trust, not just possess power, ensuring that reformasi remained more than just an empty slogan.
