If implemented to the letter, 24-Hour Economy will be a game changer – AGI

The Association of Ghana Industries (AGI) has welcomed the government's 24-Hour Economy policy, expressing optimism that its successful implementation could significantly transform Ghana's industrial sector. AGI President Seth Twum Akwaboah emphasized the importance of the policy's substance rather than its catchy slogan, stating that the effectiveness of the policy hinges on its design, implementation, and the level of consultation with industry players.

Twum Akwaboah acknowledged that the 24-Hour Economy concept was initially unclear to businesses but noted that engagements with government have provided greater clarity. He cautioned against expecting immediate economic transformation, likening the policy to the previously announced One District, One Factory (1D1F) initiative. AGI President reiterated the association's support for the initiative and highlighted that the association is actively collaborating with government and the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat to implement key aspects of the policy.

He expressed belief that if the policy is executed to the letter, it could serve as a game changer for Ghana's economy.
