Gorakhpur-Delhi Amrit Bharat Express: Check train number, route, stops and timings

The Ministry of Railways has approved the introduction of a new Amrit Bharat Express train connecting Gorakhpur and Delhi. This affordable service aims to improve connectivity between Uttar Pradesh and the national capital for passengers from lower and lower-middle income backgrounds. The North Eastern Railway will operate and maintain this train.

The train number for the Gorakhpur-Delhi service is 15095, while the Delhi-Gorakhpur service will be numbered 15096. The railway board approved regularizing train 05057/05058 Gorakhpur-Delhi Special as the new Amrit Bharat Express in a letter dated August 10, 2026.

Covering a distance of approximately 780 km, the train will take around 14 hours to complete the journey. Running at a maximum speed of 130 kmph, it will be faster than the current Chhapra-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express, which takes around 18 hours and 45 minutes to cover the same distance.

The train will run once a week, making its journey from Gorakhpur to Delhi on Thursdays and returning from Delhi to Gorakhpur on Fridays. It will make eight stops along the route, including Khalilabad, Basti, Gonda, Burhwal, Sitapur, Bareilly, Moradabad, and Ghaziabad.

The train will depart from Gorakhpur every Thursday at 10:45 pm and reach Delhi at 12:50 pm the following day. In the return journey, train 15096 will leave Delhi every Friday at 2:00 pm and arrive at Gorakhpur at 6:25 am on Saturday. The Railway Board expects the regular service to commence from an early convenient date, with the inaugural run potentially operated as a special service before being linked to the regular train service.
