'Wake up!' – Frustrated Ouaddou blasts Orlando Pirates stars after AmaZulu stalemate

Orlando Pirates coach Abdeslam Ouaddou expressed his frustration after his team suffered a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu in their second Betway Premiership match of the season. The game, held in chilly conditions at Kings Park, appeared destined for a Pirates victory as they dominated early on and took an early lead. However, AmaZulu had a goal ruled offside, only for Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya to equalize shortly before halftime. This, among other incidents, left the Pirates coach visibly disappointed in his post-match interview.

Ouaddou specifically targeted his top players, captain Nkosinathi Sibisi and first-choice goalkeeper Sipho Chaine, urging them to "wake up" following their recent World Cup appearances. He lamented that he had no patience for them to recover, emphasizing his lack of time for such setbacks. Reflecting on the match, Ouaddou admitted that his team deserved more, particularly in the second half where they played better.

However, he acknowledged AmaZulu's ability, describing them as "not an easy side to face" and praising their well-coached team and humble coach, Arthur Zwane.

The draw left Kaizer Chiefs on top of the standings, six points ahead, with Pirates' weekend clash against Mamelodi Sundowns now in focus.
