UTME Top Scorer Credits Prep50 For Success

Daniella Owoeye, who achieved the highest score in the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), has highlighted Prep50 as a significant contributor to her success. Speaking with Emeka Ejeziem, CEO of Deacons Publishers Limited, the publishers of Prep50, Daniella emphasized the importance of disciplined study, concept-based learning, and consistent revision alongside the study resource.

She began her UTME preparation around September, incorporating past questions, online tutorials, and various other study materials. However, her approach became more structured after incorporating Prep50 during the intensive revision period. The study material was particularly valuable for its topic-by-topic arrangement, which matched the JAMB syllabus, making revision easier and helping Daniella avoid feeling overwhelmed.

She appreciated how the material summarized topics and presented questions, allowing her to identify gaps in her understanding of concepts. Daniella also valued the ability to verify answers, describing Prep50 as a useful companion to her teachers, textbooks, and online tutorials. While Daniella was uncertain if she could have achieved the same score without Prep50, she acknowledged that the resource played a crucial role in covering hidden concepts and organizing her studies.

Beyond the study material, her success was attributed to understanding concepts rather than memorizing answers. She advised candidates to identify underlying topics in examination questions, carefully analyze answer options, and avoid common examination traps. Contrary to the belief that candidates need to study for 15 hours daily, Daniella shared that she dedicated about eight hours a day to her studies, focusing on quality and consistency.

She also stressed the importance of regular Computer-Based Test (CBT) practice, effective time management, and continuous revision. Daniella advised candidates to answer easier questions first during the examination, as each question carries equal marks. She further encouraged prospective candidates to combine past questions with textbooks, classroom lessons, mock examinations, and concept-based learning with structured revision, maintaining that success is attainable for those who prepare diligently, identify weaknesses early, and work hard to improve.
