School stabbing: Male student charged with murder ordered to defend himself

A male student has been charged with murder for the alleged stabbing of a 16-year-old female student at a secondary school in Bandar Utama last year. Judge Adlin Abdul Majid ruled that the prosecution had established a prima facie case against the accused, ordering him to present his defense in the High Court. The case involved testimony from 11 witnesses, including three minors, a teacher, the victim's mother, and a pathologist.

The accused, a 15-year-old juvenile, was represented by lawyer Kitson Foong, while the prosecution was led by Deputy Public Prosecutor Raja Zaizul Faridah Raja Zaharudin. The proceedings were held in a closed courtroom, with only the teenager's family present. The charge stems from an incident on October 14, 2025, where the victim was allegedly stabbed multiple times in the girls' toilet between 9:20 and 9:35 am.

The prosecution presented nearly 100 exhibits, including the alleged knife and an anime Death Note notebook. The victim's death was confirmed in a psychiatric report, stating that the teenager was fit to stand trial.
