Prez Mahama’s approval rating hits 72%-Global InfoAnalytics survey

President John Dramani Mahama has achieved a notable 72 percent job approval rating, as revealed by a recent survey conducted by Global InfoAnalytics. Executive Director Mussa Dankwah highlighted the findings during a discussion on Channel One TV. It is crucial to note that this rating reflects public approval of Mahama's individual performance as President, distinct from their views on the nation's overall trajectory.

Approximately 21 percent of respondents expressed disapproval, while seven percent indicated they had no opinion. Dankwah described the 72 percent approval rating as "very high" for the current stage of Mahama's presidency. He further explained that the President's strongest backing originated from the Upper West Region, where the approval rating reached an impressive 92 percent.

The Volta Region followed closely with an 88 percent rating. Conversely, the Ashanti Region registered the lowest approval rating at 56 percent, while the North East Region garnered a 59 percent rating. The Savannah Region, Mahama's home region, recorded a 62 percent approval rating. Despite this figure being lower than anticipated, Dankwah emphasized that such disparities are not uncommon in public opinion surveys.

During the discussion, Dankwah reaffirmed that citizens can differentiate between their perception of Mahama as an individual and their judgment of the government's performance. He also mentioned that Global InfoAnalytics aims to continuously monitor public opinion trends to ascertain whether regional approval patterns remain consistent or undergo alterations.
