National Cathedral funds could have completed some Agenda 111 hospitals – AG

Attorney General and Justice Minister, Dr Dominic Ayine, contends that funds allocated to the National Cathedral's construction could have been utilized to conclude some of the hospitals under the Agenda 111 initiative. During a district launch of the Free Primary Health Care program in the Bolga East Constituency, Dr Ayine criticized the manner in which the National Cathedral project was executed.

He revealed that a PwC report on the National Cathedral was shared with him recently, suggesting that the funds spent on the cathedral could have been redirected to finish some of the stalled hospitals under Agenda 111. "The PwC Report on the National Cathedral was presented to me last Friday. The funds spent on the National Cathedral from that Report could have been used to complete some Agenda 111 Hospitals," Dr Ayine stated.

The Attorney General further questioned the development approach used in the project, asserting that the construction of a religious facility should have been managed differently. "You don’t build a house of God in the manner in which they went about it," he added.
