Government to complete 35 Agenda 111 hospitals by end of 2026 – Mahama

President John Mahama has announced that his government will allocate funds to complete 35 Agenda 111 hospital projects that were started by the previous New Patriotic Party (NPP) administration. The President emphasized that these 35 projects are already 70% complete and represent a continuation of his predecessor's work, rather than an abandonment.

During his visit to the Upper East Region, Mahama reiterated his administration's commitment to the Agenda 111 initiative, which aims to construct 111 hospitals across Ghana, particularly in districts without existing health facilities. The government has already selected 35 projects across the country that have reached 70% completion or more, and it will provide the necessary funds to enable contractors to complete their work before the end of the year.

Additionally, 20 of these projects, which have reached 50% completion, will be prioritized in 2027 for completion, while another 20 will be given priority in 2028. Mahama stressed that allowing these hospitals to remain incomplete would result in a waste of taxpayers' money, given the significant investment already made in the projects.

He emphasized that completing these facilities would ensure that the resources committed to the Agenda 111 initiative deliver the intended benefits for Ghanaians.
