Liverpool plan a positional change for Rio Ngumoha if they sign Bradley Barcola

Liverpool have indicated that Rio Ngumoha could be moved to play as a right winger if they sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola, according to journalist Florian Plettenberg. Barcola is considered to be Mohamed Salah's potential replacement on the right flank, but Liverpool wants him on the left, where Ngumoha feels more at home.

The 17-year-old Ngumoha is expected to be a right winger, which may improve his chances of getting consistent playing time next season. However, Ngumoha is not assured of a starting position, especially if Liverpool sign Ibrahim Mbaye, a natural right winger. Ngumoha has played as a right winger in the past, and he has also been used in that position during Liverpool's pre-season matches.

Despite the possible change in position, Ngumoha's pace and dribbling could still make him a dangerous one-on-one attacker. Additionally, his ability to attack from the outside and stretch defenses could make him a valuable asset for Liverpool, particularly against teams with low blocks. Ngumoha would need to adapt quickly to secure a regular starting role and realize his potential.

Barcola's arrival might also impact Cody Gakpo's future. Liverpool could consider selling the Dutch international to create room for Barcola. They have reached their non-homegrown player limit after signing Ronaldo Araujo on loan from Barcelona, meaning they must either sell or loan out a player to register Barcola. Tottenham Hotspur has expressed interest in Gakpo and may increase their interest if Liverpool opens the door for a move.
