Pixel 11 videography improves with Pro Stable Video, Creator Suite, plus more

Google has officially unveiled the Pixel 11 series, which is equipped with a wide range of new video features and upgrades to older functions. The Pixel 11 series represents a significant leap forward for mobile video capabilities, driven by the powerful Tensor G6 processor. This processor incorporates a dedicated hardware accelerator that can handle complex video tasks previously thought impossible on mobile devices.

One of the most notable enhancements in the Pixel 11 series is the introduction of 4K bokeh portrait video. While previous Pixel models offered cinematic blur, the Tensor G6's custom accelerator enables high-resolution, professional-grade background blur in real-time across the entire series. This feature brings a cinematic depth-of-field to everyday videos.

The Pixel 11 Pro, Pro XL, and Pro Fold models take video quality to the next level with an upgraded Video Boost that supports up to 8K resolution. These Pro models also introduce Pro Stable Video, a feature that automatically activates in shaky or brightly lit conditions, such as while jogging or moving quickly. Pro Stable Video uses hardware stabilization combined with AI to deliver ultra-steady, cinematic footage at up to 8K resolution.

Google aims to make content creation more accessible for social media creators and professionals with the introduction of the Creator Suite. This suite, accessible through a dedicated tab in the video settings of the Pixel Camera app, includes various tools to facilitate content production directly on the phone. For instance, dual screen previews allow users to record themselves while the outer screen displays a real-time feed of their actions and what is being recorded.

This feature extends to the rear camera for selfie videos, enabling users to frame and record using the higher-resolution rear camera system. Additionally, Magic Capture utilizes a new video-first workflow that records a short video session, analyzes approximately 500 frames, and then selects the five best HDR+ quality moments to share as photos.

The original video is saved for record-keeping. While the Pixel 11 Pro Fold may not offer the best camera specifications due to its unique form factor, it does provide some additional video functions. Google's enhancements to the video pipeline include refined sharpening, significantly reduced noise in low-light environments, and improved zoom quality when transitioning between lenses during recording.

The Pixel 11 series also maintains support for 10-bit HDR video and Audio Magic Eraser for professional-grade post-production.
