Google announces $29 Pixel Tag coming in November with UWB [Hands-on]

Google unveiled the Pixel Tag, a first-party Find Hub tracker, during the Made by Google 2026 event. The device boasts a sleek pill-shaped design measuring 1.8 by 1.1 inches and stands 5.4mm tall. The silver metal surface showcases the iconic G logo and a speaker cutout beneath. The plastic Fog back features a circular opening to remove and replace the CR2032 battery, ensuring over a year of usage.

The Pixel Tag is ergonomically designed to resist flexing and cracking, making it comfortable to handle. A button on the tag allows users to locate and ring their phones. In addition, "Left Behind" alerts help prevent leaving items behind. Under the hood, the Pixel Tag incorporates an accelerometer, speaker, Bluetooth, and Ultra Wideband (UWB) technology for precision finding with visual distance and directional cues, extending up to 50 meters.

The tag is compatible with Android 9 and later versions. A Fast Pair feature enables users to attach the tag to their phone by simply removing the battery tab and bringing it near their device. Crafted from polycarbonate and metal, the Pixel Tag is available in a single color, Fog, and boasts IP67 resistance to splash, water, and dust, withstanding a maximum depth of 1 meter for up to 30 minutes.

Google offers the Pixel Tag at a price of $29, with a 4-pack priced at $99. The tag comes with a keychain loop to hang it from a keyring. The Pixel Tag will be available on November 11, and additional coverage can be found on 9to5Google's YouTube channel.
