Pixel 11 debuts Gboard Rambler, location-aware At a Glance, and more Gemini Intelligence

Pixel 11 series introduces various new features and improvements, powered by Gemini Intelligence. Task automation is now available in over 40 apps, allowing users to easily order and book items. Gboard Rambler, a voice transcription feature, refines run-on sentences and filler words, providing quick and clean transcriptions.

When active, Rambler takes over Gboard's suggestion strip, displaying a waveform animation. Users must tap the checkmark to finalize the transcription, without a live preview due to the prompt-based nature of the feature. To add or edit the previous output, tap the microphone icon (badged with a spark) again. Users can request style changes, expansions, and emoji additions through the Gboard settings.

Magic Cue, now known as Proactive Assistance, offers contextual suggestions across more scenarios. When tapped, a bottom sheet slides up, displaying suggestions such as opening a ride-sharing app after checking a Google Maps listing. Gemini Intelligence can also handle complex tasks, like booking restaurants and comparing products or locations.

Privacy is a focus for Gemini Intelligence, with explicit user control, Private AI Compute, and clear status updates ensuring data protection. Google is previewing an At a Glance capability that uses location to surface loyalty cards at stores and Google Maps listings when users are at restaurants.

Additionally, Google has extended Live Translate to podcasts and videos in YouTube and other supported apps, offering real-time audio dubbing thanks to Tensor G6. Circle to Search is now available in the Pixel Camera view for quick translations and information. The Camera app can also translate sign language, integrated into Gboard.
