[UPDATED] Police question KLIA staff in pilot drug probe, insider link still unclear

Federal Narcotics Crime Investigation Department director Datuk Hussein Omar Khan has confirmed that a Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) staff member has been questioned in connection with the investigation into Malaysia Airlines pilot arrested with drugs in Jakarta. Police recorded the staff member's statement and expressed satisfaction with the information provided.

However, Hussein emphasized that the investigation is still in its early stages and cannot yet determine if the employee had any role in the case. He stated that firm evidence is required to conclude involvement, whether insider or otherwise. Meanwhile, the investigation continues, seeking to ascertain if any assistance was provided to the pilot and if those under investigation were unaware of his alleged connection to the drug operation.
