Trump secretly flown from Turkey to UK amid Iran assassination threat – Reports

On July 8, US President Donald Trump secretly transferred from a military aircraft at Ankara's airport to an older Boeing 747, also known as Air Force One, amid an alleged Iranian assassination threat, according to reports by The Washington Post and The New York Times. The White House publicly maintained that Trump was traveling on Air Force One, but the deception took place during Trump's visit to NATO for a summit with world leaders.

The White House claimed that the operation was prompted by a credible threat from Iran, and that the president's location was concealed from journalists and some White House staff. The White House also noted that Trump had announced he would travel on the older aircraft for sentimental reasons, while the newer one would also stop in Britain to allow US military personnel to tour it.
