PSG ‘want to win everything’, says Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has stated that the European champions aim to win everything this season, ahead of their UEFA Super Cup final against Aston Villa. PSG secured their second consecutive Champions League title last year, along with a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 crown, the UEFA Super Cup, the French Champions Trophy and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

Ahead of their new campaign in Salzburg, Luis Enrique emphasized the need to showcase their level on the pitch, stating that aiming to win everything is the team's goal. Despite the difficulty of maintaining such a feat historically, PSG remains determined to strive for it. The coach also mentioned that they have a strong recent record against English opponents, including a penalty shoot-out victory over Tottenham, and a dramatic Champions League quarter-final win over Aston Villa the previous season.

However, they have faced tough competition recently, and Luis Enrique acknowledged the challenge of assessing their condition after limited pre-season games. The coach expressed confidence in his team's ability to prove their unpredictability, and highlighted the squad's strength, which includes winger Bradley Barcola, who was recently linked with a move to Liverpool.

However, the recently signed Lucas Digne will not feature in the Super Cup final, following his departure from Villa Park a few days prior.
