Nag Panchami In MP’s Ujjain: Nagchandreshwar Temple To Open For 24 Hours

Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh witnessed the celebration of Nag Panchami at the Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple on August 17. The doors of the Shri Nagchandreshwar Temple remained open for devotees from midnight on August 16 until midnight on August 17. To mark the occasion, the procession of Lord Shri Mahakal's sawari was taken through the city.

It is anticipated that thousands of devotees would arrive in Ujjain to seek darshan of Lord Shri Nagchandreshwar. The first puja of Shri Nagchandreshwar was performed by the Mahant of the Panchayati Mahanirvani Akhara between 11.30 pm and midnight on August 16, shortly after the temple doors opened. This was followed by the government puja in the afternoon.

Temple priests conducted the evening Aarti. A meeting regarding preparations for the Nag Panchami festival and arrangements for devotees at Shri Mahakaleshwar Temple was held earlier in the week. The meeting, attended by various officials, saw the collector emphasizing the need for robust arrangements to ensure the safety and convenience of the large number of devotees expected to visit the city.
