PSG ‘want to win everything’, says Luis Enrique

Paris Saint-Germain coach Luis Enrique has stated that the European champions "want to win everything" this season, ahead of their first opportunity for silverware in Wednesday's UEFA Super Cup final against Aston Villa. PSG achieved a second consecutive Champions League title last year and secured a fifth consecutive Ligue 1 crown, the UEFA Super Cup, the French Champions' Trophy and the FIFA Intercontinental Cup.

The Spaniard's team will kick off their new campaign in Salzburg against Europa League winners Villa. Enrique told reporters that they must demonstrate their level on the pitch and emphasized their ambition to win everything, despite acknowledging the difficulty of maintaining such a record history. PSG triumphed in the Super Cup last year with a penalty shootout victory over Tottenham and possess a solid recent record against English teams, having defeated Aston Villa in a thrilling Champions League quarter-final earlier this year.

Enrique expressed uncertainty regarding the form of his opponents following a limited number of pre-season matches. However, recent signing Lucas Digne is not included in the squad just two days after his departure from Aston Villa to rejoin PSG. The captain, Marquinhos, praised Digne's return, noting their shared history together during Digne's first tenure at the Parc des Princes from 2013-2016.
