‘I froze’: Radhika Sarathkumar shot comedy scene minutes after learning of mother’s death

Veteran South Indian actress Radhika Sarathkumar was in the midst of filming a comedy scene for the upcoming movie Vishwanath and Sons when she received devastating news of her mother's passing. Despite the tragic event, Radhika insisted on completing the scene before leaving the set. Director Venky Atluri and co-star Mamitha Baiju revealed the emotional incident in an interview with Sithara Entertainments.

The director recounted how Radhika, who had already completed 85% of the scene, refused to leave the set, emphasizing the difficulty of recreating the scene later. Mamitha Baiju expressed her shock at Radhika's commitment to the performance, given the circumstances. Radhika Sarathkumar's mother, Geetha Radha, had passed away in September 2025 at the age of 86 due to age-related health issues.

The actress had informed her colleagues about her mother's death before the shoot but insisted on finishing the scene to honor her mother's wishes.
