Hassan Karim strongly supports the idea proposed by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Sultan Ibrahim that a follow-up investigation should be conducted into the 14 problematic investments, as reported in the Sultan Abdul Halim Muadzam Shah Trust (TH) audit. The MP for Pasir Gudang urges state lawyers, prosecution agencies, and the Attorney General's Chambers (AGC) to take strong action against those responsible for the RM10 billion loss incurred by TH.

He urges the state lawyers, prosecution agencies, and the AGC not to play games. They should discuss the matter in the Dewan Rakyat from morning until night and want to see issues such as those mentioned. He agrees with the Sultan's suggestion that the investigation should proceed until the "bottom of the snake." The investigation must involve key individuals in TH's top management, including the former chairman, CEO, CFO, board members, and senior managers.

"Someone needs to be investigated," he said. "If there is evidence and proof, they need to be charged in court. If wrongdoing is proven, they must be imprisoned because the TH audit report has shown that TH has incurred a loss of RM10 billion. I don't want to protect anyone. Those who need to be investigated are the former TH chairman, CEO, CFO, board members, and senior managers.

Don't just investigate junior or low-level employees. The management of TH as a whole needs to be investigated. Otherwise, this follow-up investigation into the TH audit will be a waste of time. He also brought up the TH financial report for 2017, which was revealed in the RCI, when the institution managed to record a profit of RM3.4 billion, while subsequent audits found that it had actually incurred a loss of RM1.4 billion.

"This is a mistake. There are many more issues related to the 2017 financial report alone. What legal violations have TH management committed that they can be considered a criminal offense?" he asks. Hassan said that if there was fraudulent or falsified accounting with a specific intention, it should be investigated and determined through legal proceedings. He also urges a follow-up investigation into the 14 problematic investments reported in the RCI.
