GCC condemns Colombia's recognition of Israeli sovereignty over Golan Heights

The Gulf Cooperation Council has strongly criticized Colombia's acknowledgment of Israeli control over the Syrian Golan Heights, labeling it as unlawful. The Council stressed that this decision contravenes international laws and treaties, asserting that the Golan is Syrian Arab territory occupied by Israel. Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, emphasized that decisions and acknowledgments not aligned with reality or not grounded in international resolutions are unacceptable.

He highlighted the adverse impact of such actions on regional peace and security efforts. Albudaiwi urged Colombia to revoke what he termed as an "invalid recognition" and stressed the necessity for Israel to adhere to international legitimacy and withdraw from all occupied Arab territories, including the Golan Heights. The Secretary-General reaffirmed the GCC's unwavering support for the Syrian Arab Republic, reaffirming their commitment to Syria's sovereignty, independence, unity, and territorial integrity, encompassing the occupied Syrian Golan Heights.

He also firmly rejected any actions or violations that could jeopardize Syria's sovereignty or reduce its territorial unity.
